A weekly night of comedy featuring new and experienced acts in a friendly intimate atmosphere
Comedy at the State presents
GIGGLES AT NINE
What better way to spend a Saturday night than having a laugh in the company of a great line up of comedians. In the upstairs bar we have a fine selection of real ales which you can try out before the show begins. It’s a traditionally atmospheric bar and not overpriced (check out our prices below) Positioned between Bath Street and Sauchiehall Street in the heart of restaurant land. Why not make a night of it and have a curry first .
Giggles at Nine presents Jamie Dalgleish a young man who has the energy of a monkey poking a beehive with a stick and the cheeky likeability of a cheery barrow boy. These endearing qualities and great comedy helped him win ‘Scottish Comedian of the Year 2011′.
He had a sold out 4 date Glasgow Comedy Festival show plus a full run at The Fringe with Just The Tonic in 2012, amongst several BBC Radio Scotland appearances.
“Dalgleish has a bright future in stand-up” The Scotsman
“Full of energy and instantly likeable” Edinburgh Festival Journal
“Jamie showed the composure and comic timing last seen at the Pavilion by the likes of Jack Milroy and Hector Nicol, with a big dollop of Kevin Bridges thrown in for good measure.” The Glaswegian
Ably supported by Christopher Scott and Paul McDaniel, two young comedians to watch very carefully. This is a great lineup . wear rubber pants you’re going to wet yourself, but in a good way.
