SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE STATE
Sat, 16 Mar '13 9:30pm - 11:30pm ( £7 / £5 )Comedy at the State – Glasgow’s only truly independent comedy venue – is still on every Saturday evening, but it’s been given a special name during the Glasgow International Comedy Festival. We’ve called it… wait for it… “SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE STATE!” We take comedy deadly seriously. So seriously, I’m actually frowning as I type this. Our aim is to provide a platform for both new and experienced comedians in this most intimate of surroundings. Our comedy club is the kind of venue you’d love to come see blues or jazz being played live. We’re sweaty and vibrant with the essence of pure comedy. We don’t try to sell you food, and there is no overpriced drink. Just ask yourself – where would you rather see the Rolling Stones – Wembley Stadium or Ronnie Scott’s club? I rest my case! We’ll be looking about this wonderful comedy festival and putting on some great acts you might never see again and a few home grown ones too. Support us downstairs at the State Bar, go to comedyatthestate.co.uk for a full menu of what we’re doing this festival and pop another comedy cherry!
